UX CASE STUDY - GOOGLE UX DESIGN COURSE

Umami Sushi App

Umami Sushi is a conceptual sushi restaurant I created as part of the requirements for the Google UX Design certificate course. The app was designed to simplify the online ordering user experience. From browsing the menu, creating a reservation, customizing rolls, and checking out, every interaction was crafted to feel intuitive, fast, and enjoyable.

Ordering Online Shouldn't Be Complicated

Many restaurant apps and websites suffer from cluttered menus, confusing customization options, and slow checkout flows. Users often abandon their orders due to frustration with the experience. The challenge was to design an app that makes ordering sushi both simple and efficient.

A Branded Ordering Experience

I designed Umami with a focus on visual hierarchy and minimal friction. The app features a clean menu layout with appropriate photography, a streamlined roll customization flow, and a quick checkout process. User research and usability testing drove every design decision, ensuring the final product was both branded well and highly functional.
